AS a webcomic artist who has now produced over 1,000 pages of work with no hesitation, I should amend this article with the following summary:
Art-block is caused by a lack of creative purpose. Purpose is the best means by which a vacillating artist might finally become motivated again. Whether it's as simple as the need to capture a beautiful image, like a sunset with a loved one, or as dire as the need to communicate an imperative revelation before death, this purpose is the key to allowing the feeling of importance, which will allow artists to undertake as grea
Well, to be precise, I'm simply a hobby artist trying to improve. Right now I'm severely lacking in anatomy and various technical things such as finished linework. I've been going through a bunch of figure drawing and reference art to learn the structure of the human body in proper proportion, and only lately have been doing my own completely original off-the-top-of-my-head art. Most of it is digital art at this point, though I also keep a physical sketchbook for more traditional drawings and art. Comments and critique is appreciated.

The country side here contains several great places to get some good landscape studies in for water and forests, and I've been using them to full effect recently.
That's pretty much it, actually. No paintings; just pencil sketch after pencil sketch, going for accurate capture of fundamentals like lighting and form.
Because more art is equal to more skill, normally. I need to practice, but I lack motivation a lot of the time. Lately I've been thinking of taking the thirty day drawing challenge, where you draw one pre-determined thing a day, for thirty days. That could likely kick my ass into gear so that I could produce much more art in the long run and thus become better.
